“I’ve been to four of your groups and I’m obsessed. This was the first one online and I liked the combination of your lessons and the giggling of the other girls. I love how the meeting goes.”

"Nicole is a conduit for empowering young girls and teens. Her superpower is her innate ability to guide girls into leadership by asking the right questions, and leaning into their answers with curiosity. I have watched her in real time not only engage with my daughters in a powerful way, but leave an impression where my girls felt heard, seen, and like they really make a difference. She is a gift!"
“I can’t say enough good things about Nicole. She teaches the girls new skills and strengthens their confidence. My 12 year daughter loves her leadership retreats and always asks when she can attend the next one!”

Hi there!
I'm Nicole. As a mentor and educational therapist, I love to create supportive environments for kids and teens to thrive and be seen for who they are, just as they are. I grew up (and still live) in the San Francisco Bay Area and often felt overwhelmed, stressed out and disconnected during my preteen and teen years. It was a bumpy time to say the least. I got my master's degree in education and have been working with kids for over 20 years. My thesis work was on Self-Compassion because I saw the value in sharing it with the kids I work with and also because I majorly needed it for myself. Starting in my preteen years, I developed some pretty negative self-talk, perfectionism and overall anxiety. I realized in college that even though I was now considered an adult, I was missing some pretty key skills to leading a happy, healthy life. Skills I needed to know for life like communication skills, nervous system regulation, creative problem solving, navigating challenges, rejection, big feelings, overall stress management and how to like myself. So after I finished grad school ended, I dove head first into learning these skills. And boy, have they made a difference! I definitely don't have everything down perfectly, but my life feels smoother and easier and I feel more at peace with myself. I believe learning doesn't end when school ends and I have taken many comprehensive trainings and programs on leadership, voice empowerment + public speaking, Qoya movement teacher training, kids yoga teacher training and nervous system trainings. As I developed all these key life skills and took all of these trainings, I kept thinking to myself, "How can girls get these resources and experiences earlier in life?" Girls Shine Bright is my creative solution to just that! - Nicole |
