Every month, members receive access to the following:
-One recorded video on the theme of the month: In this video, Nicole will dive into the monthly theme with a special talk, and share journal prompts and invitations for the girls to work with these themes in their everyday lives. Each month has a unique theme (see monthly themes below) curated just for girls ages ~10-14 to engage in valuable social emotional learning. These themes are what I wish I had when I was this age and what I currently see girls currently most needing. This video can be watched with a parent/guardian or by themselves.
-One live 90 min circle on Zoom based on the theme of the month: Expect great conversations, interesting projects, activities and other surprises!
-One live 90 min leadership circle on Zoom. Girls get to gain real life leadership skills by each getting a turn to lead the group with nurturing support and encouragement. Every leadership circle ends with an appreciation circle where girls practice sharing and receiving appreciations of what they led. This is all about building 21st century skills in a fun way!
You can participate in all of these things every month or just some of them. It’s up to you!

“What I found out about myself from doing the leadership circles is that I have more creativity than I thought I had. I felt more entitled to be able to stand up, speak and become someone who’s actually being listened to. I embraced the leadership part of me.”

Our Unique Monthly Themes Designed just for 10-14 year old girls
October: You are a leader
Magic happens when girls have space and time to express themselves and practice their leadership skills in an encouraging environment. That is exactly what we are going to do this month! Girls will be invited to see themselves as leaders and start to appreciate their unique leadership abilities as well as other group members.
November: Saying yes to who you are- building confidence from the inside out
Being confident is all about being comfortable in your own skin and believing in yourself. It doesn’t mean that you will never fail or experience things not going how you want them to. This month we are saying yes to who we are and honoring our inherent resilience when things don’t go our way.
December: Listen to your body
We are going to take some time to get to know ourselves better this month and tune into our body’s natural rhythms and cycles. We will dive into topics like stress management, making time to restore, and self care.
January: It’s okay to make mistakes- be kind to yourself.
We will dive into what we can do if we experience perfectionism. We will learn about self-compassion and practice speaking kindly to ourselves. We will also learn powerful communication skills for when we make mistakes that impact other people.
February: Speak your truth
Your voice matters! What you have to say is valuable and deserves to be heard. This month we will dive into communication skills. Here are possible topics we may work on: practicing saying no and setting boundaries, asking for what you need, and how can we stay true to ourselves amidst peer pressure with clear communication.
March: Unleash your creativity
Creativity is so important to our vitality. We will tap into our inner creativity this month and create! Creativity can look a lot of different ways and we will explore what kind of creativity lights you up!
April: Girls choice!
Girls will work together to come up with the theme for this month :)
May: Creating together is magical
This month is all about collaboration where girls will bring their unique strengths and gifts and create something special for the parents. For this month only, we will transform our leadership circle (2nd meeting of the month) into a retreat for parents/guardians! Girls will work together to create a special experience just for their parents/guardians.
June: Celebrate yourself
This month is all about celebration! Celebrating who you are, celebrating the school year ending, and celebrating our Girls Shine Bright Circle journey together.
*Please note this program will be customized for the girls who join us and I may make slight modifications to these themes to best meet the needs of the girls enrolled*
“Nicole’s Girls Shine Bright girls empowerment workshops are amazing. My daughter has been attending for several years now and I have seen her blossom from a young, rather shy girl, into a very confident, thoughtful, and creative teen. I especially love how the girls are able to demonstrate their leadership skills with the parents at the end of the series by showcasing activities that promote collaboration, creativity, problem solving, and communication. All 21st century leadership skills that are essential for success.”

What parents have to say:
"My daughter eagerly awaited each and every meeting while simultaneously growing her confidence by using her voice to teach other kids and parents in the parent retreat. Nicole has created a beautiful space for girls to do what they do best... shine! My daughter and I are both very much looking forward to the next event with Nicole!"
"I absolutely loved this program and was so impressed by Nicole and all the girls and their presentation and presence. Thanks so much for everything you do and for including us. I hope we can continue to come to many more programs in the future."
"Nicole is a conduit for empowering young girls and teens. Her superpower is her innate ability to guide girls into leadership by asking the right questions, and leaning into their answers with curiosity. I have watched her in real time not only engage with my daughters in a powerful way, but leave an impression where my girls felt heard, seen, and like they really make a difference. She is a gift!"
“I can’t say enough good things about Nicole. She teaches the girls new skills and strengthens their confidence.”
More quotes from girls :)
“This group really helped me so thank you”

“Thanks for letting us lead!”
“I love that Nicole makes things silly and fun”
“Can we do this again tomorrow?”
FAQ
How do you cancel the membership? If my daughter doesn’t attend some live circles, can we get a refund for those missed circles?
When you register, you will set up a recurring donation on Paypal and you can cancel that recurring monthly donation at any time through your Paypal account. Because our membership is donation based, we are unable to offer refunds. Please know that we deeply value your donations and they go to support our mission to empower girls.
This looks great but we can’t do all the dates. Is it okay to miss some?
Yes, missing some of our live circles is totally fine! This is a membership model program and you can choose what to come to and what not to. Attending twice a month is highly encouraged but we know that life happens.
If your daughter’s schedule works out where she can never attend twice a month and can really only attend once a month, please contact me at nicole@nicoleconnell.com and we can discuss the possibility of setting up a partial membership for you.
Will the Zoom meetings be recorded and sent out?
No, the Zoom meetings will not be recorded or sent out. We want to honor girls’ privacy and will not be recording the girls. Upon request, we will record and send out Nicole’s part of the theme class (1st meeting of the month). If you know in advance that your daughter will miss the theme circle and wants to hear Nicole’s part, you can send Nicole an email and she will record and only share her part of the live circle with you.
Why is this program online? Does online really work?
I used to offer circles in person but switched to Zoom when the pandemic started. I found that online works really well for the girls who have participated so far. I have kept doing them online since then so they are more accessible to more girls.
My daughter is really shy. I wonder if this is too much for her. I don’t know if she would want to lead an activity. Can she still join?
Yes! I used to be incredibly shy when I was younger so I can understand how leading other girls and parents could sound really scary! Everything is an option and girls can say no to anything they don’t want to do. They can participate in the other girls’ leadership activities and not lead an activity if they wish. I can support them to do a little more each time if they want. They can meet with me one on one and we can come up with a plan that works for them. I am here to support your daughter where she is at.

Hi there!
I'm Nicole. As a mentor and educational therapist, I love to create supportive environments for kids and teens to thrive and be seen for who they are, just as they are. I grew up (and still live) in the San Francisco Bay Area and often felt stressed out and disconnected during my preteen and teen years. Once I graduated from college, I discovered a whole world of resources to help with stress and disconnection that I didn't learn about in school: women's circles, yoga classes and my favorite..... retreats! Through retreats and other trainings, I've studied leadership, vocal empowerment, movement, mindfulness and much more. I became a Qoya Movement teacher as well as a certified kids' yoga teacher. As I took all of these trainings, I kept thinking to myself, "How can girls get these resources and experiences earlier in life?" Girls Shine Bright is my creative solution to just that! - Nicole |
