Each month, the Girls Shine Bright Community membership includes three 75 minute Live Zoom calls.
The first call of the month is our Monthly Theme Call.
During the first meeting of each month, we will discuss a monthly theme. These themes will be customized to the girls in the group. I will get a sense of what the group most needs by sending surveys to parents and girls to customize special themes for the group.
Examples of possible monthly themes:
- You are here to lead
- Listen to your body
- Share your ideas
- Be kind to yourself
- Fostering friendships
- Cultivate confidence from the inside out
- Appreciate the magic of who you are
The second call of the month is our Skill Building Lab.
We won’t just talk about these skills, we will practice them. And we will practice these skills regularly so they stick! We will work on skills such as:
- Communication skills like clearly asking for what you need, saying no and learning how to repair and give an apology that feels good to receive
- How to be honest and kind
- Creative problem solving using a design thinking lens
- Basic Nervous System Regulation Skills
- Caring for yourself when things aren't going how you want (such as experiencing rejection, sadness or anger)
- Failing forward and building resilience
- Developing a healthy and empowering relationship to technology
- Thinking critically about social media and advertisements
These skill building lab sessions will be engaging and include activities like role plays and trying things out in a safe, nurturing environment.
The third call of the month is our Leadership Circle.
In the leadership circle call, girls will gain real life leadership skills by each getting a turn to lead the group with lots of nurturing support and encouragement. Each leadership circle ends with an appreciation circle where girls practice sharing and receiving appreciations of what they led. This is all about building 21st century skills in a fun way!
And in the month of May, the leadership circle will transform into the girls leading a retreat for their parents. The girls will work together and co-create a retreat designed just for their parents. Each girl will have the opportunity to lead a portion of the retreat. This is one of my favorite things each year! Parents, you will get to see your daughter lead and shine and get to lean back and have fun. It is magical!
Members also receive 15% off 1:1 mentoring sessions with Nicole.
You have the option to add on individualized 1:1 support at a discounted rate. Please note, this discount only applies to Nicole's mentoring services and does not apply to Nicole's educational therapy or personalized education services.

“What I found out about myself from doing the leadership circles is that I have more creativity than I thought I had. I felt more entitled to be able to stand up, speak and become someone who’s actually being listened to. I embraced the leadership part of me.”

“Nicole’s Girls Shine Bright girls empowerment groups are amazing. My daughter has been attending for several years now and I have seen her blossom from a young, rather shy girl, into a very confident, thoughtful, and creative teen. I especially love how the girls are able to demonstrate their leadership skills with the parents at the end of the series by showcasing activities that promote collaboration, creativity, problem solving, and communication. All 21st century leadership skills that are essential for success.”

Dates for the live Zoom meetings
Fall dates coming soon! Sign up below and we will let you know when the fall schedule is released.
Can't make every single date? No problem! This is a membership model program and it's totally okay if your daughter needs to skip some meetings.
How the Membership Works
The Girls Shine Bright Community membership is offered on a donation basis. Your donation supports our mission to elevate girls.
The suggested monthly donation is a sliding scale from $99 - $139 per month.
This program is designed as a comprehensive eight month program and your daughter will get the most benefit by attending each month. The content builds on itself and consistency and regularity are key to help build skills that stick. We highly encourage girls to stay for the duration of the whole program. However, we know life happens and that that is not always possible, so you are able to cancel your membership at any time.
No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] about scholarship rates. We have full and partial scholarships available and want this program to be accessible to every girl who wants to participate.

FAQ
How do you cancel the membership? If my daughter doesn’t attend some live circles, can we get a refund for those missed circles?
When you register, you will set up a recurring donation and you can cancel that recurring monthly donation at any time. Because our membership is donation based, we are unable to offer refunds. Please know that we deeply value your donations and they go to support our mission to empower girls.
This looks great but we can’t do all the dates. Is it okay to miss some?
Yes, missing some of our live calls is totally fine! This is a membership model program and you can choose what to come to and what not to. Attending all three meetings a month is highly encouraged but we know that life happens.
If your daughter’s schedule works out where she can never attend three times a month but still really wants to participate, please contact me at [email protected] and we can discuss the possibility of setting up a partial membership for you.
Will the Zoom meetings be recorded and sent out?
No, the Zoom meetings will not be recorded or sent out. We want to honor girls’ privacy and will not be recording the girls.
Why is this program online? Does online really work?
I used to offer circles in person but switched to Zoom when the pandemic started. I found that online worked really well and it allows girls to join from all over the US and even outside of the US to join us.
Why the age range? I'm not sure my 14 year old wants to be with 10 year olds or vice versa. Why don't you have a smaller age range?
I am personally a big fan of mixed age learning environments for many reasons. As both a former Montessori student and teacher, I have seen the benefit of having different ages in a group together. Also, according to Dr. Peter Gray's research, there are more opportunities for learning and development in mixed age environments. He found that it can give opportunities for older students to take on a role model role and that younger students often remind and inspire older students about the value of play, imagination and excitement. I believe that each age has its own important wisdom and from running these groups, I've found that this 10-14 year old window works very well.
My daughter is really shy. I wonder if this is too much for her. I don’t know if she would want to lead an activity. Can she still join?
Yes! I used to be incredibly shy when I was younger so I can understand how leading other girls and parents could sound really scary! Everything is an option and girls can say no to anything they don’t want to do. They can participate in the other girls’ leadership activities and not lead an activity if they wish. I can support them to do a little more each time if they want. They can meet with me one on one and we can come up with a plan that works for them. I am here to support your daughter where she is at.

What parents have to say:
"My daughter eagerly awaited each and every meeting while simultaneously growing her confidence by using her voice to teach other kids and parents in the parent retreat. Nicole has created a beautiful space for girls to do what they do best... shine! My daughter and I are both very much looking forward to the next event with Nicole!"
"I absolutely loved this program and was so impressed by Nicole and all the girls and their presentation and presence. Thanks so much for everything you do and for including us. I hope we can continue to come to many more programs in the future."
"Nicole is a conduit for empowering young girls and teens. Her superpower is her innate ability to guide girls into leadership by asking the right questions, and leaning into their answers with curiosity. I have watched her in real time not only engage with my daughters in a powerful way, but leave an impression where my girls felt heard, seen, and like they really make a difference. She is a gift!"
“I can’t say enough good things about Nicole. She teaches the girls new skills and strengthens their confidence.”
What past Girls Shine Bright Participants have to say:
"I liked how we all got to lead something and everyone was very supportive. I also really liked the appreciation circles. It was nice to have appreciation and be able to appreciate others."
"I really appreciate that Nicole knows how to talk to kids. She’s like a kid-adult. She’s a good teacher. She comes up with a fun thing like every 2 minutes."
“Thanks for letting us lead!”
“I love that Nicole makes things silly and fun”
“Can we do this again tomorrow?”
Hi there!
I'm Nicole. As a mentor and educational therapist, I love to create supportive environments for kids and teens to thrive and be seen for who they are, just as they are. I grew up (and still live) in the San Francisco Bay Area and often felt overwhelmed, stressed out and disconnected during my preteen and teen years. It was a bumpy time to say the least. I got my master's degree in education and have been working with kids for over 20 years. My thesis work was on Self-Compassion because I saw the value in sharing it with the kids I work with and also because I majorly needed it for myself. Starting in my preteen years, I developed some pretty negative self-talk, perfectionism and overall anxiety. I realized in college that even though I was now considered an adult, I was missing some pretty key skills to leading a happy, healthy life. Skills I needed to know for life like communication skills, nervous system regulation, creative problem solving, navigating challenges, rejection, big feelings, overall stress management and how to like myself. So after I finished grad school ended, I dove head first into learning these skills. And boy, have they made a difference! I definitely don't have everything down perfectly, but my life feels smoother and easier and I feel more at peace with myself. I believe learning doesn't end when school ends and I have taken many comprehensive trainings and programs on leadership, voice empowerment + public speaking, Qoya movement teacher training, kids yoga teacher training and nervous system trainings. As I developed all these key life skills and took all of these trainings, I kept thinking to myself, "How can girls get these resources and experiences earlier in life?" Girls Shine Bright Community is my creative solution to just that! - Nicole |
